Black & Bricks is a contemporary private residence designed to enhance everyday living through a clear functional layout and strong connection to the surrounding landscape. The double-storey house integrates interior and exterior spaces, featuring open living areas, landscaped gardens, and panoramic views. The project reflects a refined balance between architectural simplicity, comfort, and long-term livability, creating a timeless home rooted in its natural context.
The project is conceived within a context of rich natural and historical significance, where the surrounding landscape and topography play a central role in shaping the architectural response. Architecture, in this sense, is understood as the creation of spaces that enhance human living through a balance of functionality, efficiency, and aesthetic expression. The primary objective of this residence was to create a home that not only provides shelter but also enriches daily life for its occupants, both in the present and for future generations.
The house occupies a spacious plot on an elevated site, surrounded by dense vegetation and overlooking a lush green valley with prominent natural features. The design strategy focuses on maximizing visual connections to the landscape while carefully addressing the challenges posed by the site’s steep slope.
This private, double-storey residence was designed for a family of four. The ground floor comprises a welcoming reception area and a dining space that extends seamlessly into the outdoor garden. The exterior includes a twelve-meter-long swimming pool, olive trees, and an outdoor dining area, reinforcing the connection between interior and exterior living. A functional kitchen with a small storage area and a guest restroom complete this level.
The first floor accommodates the private living spaces, including a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a wooden terrace oriented to capture garden views. A large glazed opening frames expansive views of the surrounding landscape. Two additional bedrooms for the children are complemented by a shared family area and a common wooden terrace, providing a comfortable and cohesive living environment.
In conclusion, Black & Bricks represents a refined residential project that integrates functional planning, architectural clarity, and a strong relationship with the natural environment, resulting in a timeless home that supports both everyday living and long-term habitation.
