ADON House is situated at the base of Mount al-Rayhan, in close proximity to the village of Mlikh in the Jezzine district of the South Governorate of Lebanon. The name ‘Adon’, meaning ‘lord’ in Arabic, is derived from the neighboring village of Mlikh, which in turn is derived from the Semitic word ‘MLK’, meaning ‘king’.
This concept for a modern sustainable house is nestled on a small cliff amidst a cultivable slope, with the objective of promoting the return to natural environments.
Comprising three levels, the entrance of ADON House is situated on the first level, at the road level, within a treated steel frame that leads to a staircase descending to the second level. The second level houses the kitchen, dining room, reception area, two separate bedrooms, and a glass corridor connecting them to the rest of the house. The third level includes the master bedroom, a small atelier, and an outdoor terrace that overlooks the farmland and pool, extending out over the cliff.
In addition to the house, the ADON project also includes the reclamation of adjacent lands through the construction of an artificial pond that collects rainwater for irrigation purposes.
