The HM Chalets Project is a hillside residential development in Kafra overlooking the plain of Tyre and the Mediterranean, composed of five adjoining chalets, each expressing a distinct architectural style. Unity is achieved through shared planning principles, standardized materials, and contemporary detailing, allowing architectural diversity to coexist within a coherent and landscape-responsive ensemble.
HM Chalets Project
Kafra, Southern Lebanon
The HM Chalets Project is situated in the village of Kafra on a hillside commanding open views toward the plain of Tyre and the Mediterranean shoreline. The development comprises five adjoining chalets, each conceived with a distinct architectural language inspired by different cultural references. This diversity presented a central design challenge: reconciling varied formal expressions within a coherent residential ensemble.
While the chalets differ in façade articulation, proportions, and interior layouts, the project establishes unity through a shared planning logic and a controlled material palette. Common cladding systems and contemporary detailing were employed to harmonize the contrasting styles, ensuring visual continuity across the development. Through this strategy, the project balances architectural diversity with compositional coherence, creating a unified hillside complex that responds to its landscape and panoramic setting.
