Professional Projects

Located 13 km from Beirut on a scenic mountain slope, the historic Kahale Mill is being restored as a heritage site that blends history, nature, and community. The project includes rehabilitating the mill, creating a public garden, accessible pathways, and spaces for cultural events, while supporting local women and youth through a provisions cooperative. It aims to preserve the site, promote cultural and environmental tourism, and provide a vibrant space for residents and visitors to connect with heritage and nature.

Situated in the strategic border village of Merkaba within the Marjeyoun district, the residence of Mr. Hassan Haidar represents a sophisticated synthesis of Tuscan vernacular and contemporary architectural principles, resulting in a cohesive, multi-generational dwelling. The building’s morphology—comprising a basement, ground floor, and first floor topped with a traditional dark-tiled pitched roof—utilizes a dual-material palette of rugged, indigenous stone masonry and refined, smooth-plastered volumes to create a balanced textural dialogue. Architecturally, the facade marries classical Mediterranean motifs, such as the ground-floor arched fenestrations and protruding semicircular balconies with wrought-iron balustrades, with the minimalist, rectilinear lines of modern design seen in the framed entrances and vertical window proportions. Beyond its aesthetic merit, the project exhibits exceptional functional versatility; the internal layout is engineered to operate either as a singular manor or as three independent residential units, facilitated by a discreetly integrated external staircase that ensures private access to each level without compromising the structure’s visual unity. This fusion of historical charm and modern spatial efficiency allows the residence to sit harmoniously within the southern Lebanese landscape while providing a flexible, adaptive environment that caters to evolving familial needs.
