A spherical geometric design inspired by Islamic patterns, featuring a gradient perforation that balances light and shadow with structural precision.

This design is a geometric abstraction inspired by traditional Islamic patterns, integrating arabesque elements with spatial networks governed by precise mathematical logic. The spherical volume is divided into two contrasting regions: the upper portion, which features a solid surface with evenly distributed perforations, and the lower section, where the perforations follow a more complex and irregular distribution, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The unique arrangement of openings is based on an organic geometric network influenced by fractal patterns, where the density of perforations varies to optimize both visual aesthetics and internal illumination. This gradient distribution allows for different levels of light diffusion, adding depth and a sense of movement to the surface. Structurally, the use of a textured material contrasts with the smooth, intricate perforations, generating a balance between solid geometry and delicate detailing. This contrast in materiality and light manipulation enhances the design’s adaptability to different environments, serving both as a structural and decorative element. Ultimately, this design embodies a holistic experience that fuses computational precision in pattern formation, a visually engaging light-shadow interaction, and cultural references that reinterpret the aesthetic values of Islamic architecture in a contemporary context.
